The Old Orchard Beach High School Curriculum

Core courses primarily meet in 80-minute blocks on an alternating day schedule. Some elective courses and a few core courses meet during a 40-minute block for the year. Most elective courses meet for one semester in an 80-minute block. College Preparatory courses are labeled CP before the course name on the transcript.
Junior and Senior English are heterogeneously mixed and are taught in accordance with a college prep curriculum. All Foreign Language courses are CP and all other elective courses in all departments are heterogeneously mixed. Students may also elect to participate in various Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (BRCOT) programs in Auto Body, Auto Mechanics, Building Trades, Business and Financial Management, Drafting, Early Childhood Education, Electrical Technology, Health Assistant / CNA, Intro to Medical Sciences, Legal Studies, Machine Tool Technology, Medical Assisting, Retail / Marketing, and Welding & Metal Fabrication.


Graduation Requirements: 24 credits are required for graduation.
