Loranger Middle School is the home of the award winning Loranger Middle School Marching Band and Color Guard, and the well known Loranger Middle School Jazz Band.

The Loranger Band Program is under the direction of Mr.  George Shabo. The LMS Band program as a whole boasts over 90 members (approximately 1/3 of the 6th through 8th grade school population!) and has attained many awards and honors.

The 2000-01 school year was a very successful season for the various LMS Bands. The LMS Marching Band earned the Division I First Place Trophy for its inspiring performance in the Maine State Parade. The LMS Jazz Band placed fourth among strong competition in the Maine State Jazz Band Festival. The LMS Grade 5 Beginner Band offered an outstanding performance at the annual  LMS "Evening of the Arts" show. At the end of the busy year the entire LMS Band traveled to Canobie Lake Park for a well-deserved day of celebration. These are just a few of the accolades and stirring events that were the highlights of last year's program. 

The LMS Jazz Band was awarded the 1999 Division II Maine State Jazz Band Championship. Past honors include many 1st Place Awards at the Maine State Parade, the "Superior" rating trophy at the Music Festival Showcase held at Six Flags Theme Park in Jackson, New Jersey, numerous State Jazz Band titles as well as performances for the State House of Representatives and Governor Angus King.

The LMS Band Program is located in a new music facility that was built by the Biddeford Vocational School and Future Builders of Maine. This beautiful addition was constructed without any taxpayer expense! All of the funds for the music room were raised through the generosity of local community citizen donations and business sponsorships. The entire Old Orchard Beach community is proud of its Loranger Middle School Band!
